O’Keeffe and Moore

My deputy director at the San Diego Museum of Art, Anita Feldman, had served previously at the Henry Moore Foundation, and the idea of presenting Georgia O’Keeffe and Moore in dialogue was very much hers. O’Keeffe features prominently in the San Diego Museum of Art’s collection, and I traveled often as a courier with the museum’s O’Keeffes, and participated in installations alongside colleagues from the the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe. I could never have guessed, however, that the project I began working on as Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art in San Diego, I would finish up (after many years and a global pandemic) as Curator of Fine Art at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum.
