Long Island Girl: The Superrealism of Carol Feuerman

Museum of Sex, New York, 2025

Like most everyone, I knew Carole Feuerman as a sculptor of swimmers. But as Chief Curator at the Museum of Sex, I was looking for something else, which is what I found at Carole’s studio in Brooklyn when she unpacked a body of work from the 70s and 80s that hardly anyone had seen. These were mostly fragments; male and female bodies cast from life. Carole and her studio were such fantastic partners, and we worked together (in record time) to publish the catalogue that accompanied the exhibition.
