Photographs – mostly portraits of the artist – are by far the largest part of the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum’s collection, and I had great fun myself digging in the vaults. This exhibition catalogue, edited by Lisa Volpe, is the closest thing yet to a catalogue raisonné of photographs taken by Georgia O’Keeffe, and my essay relates this body of work to her primary practice as a painter.
